Redchic12,
Technically if we deem something good perhaps we should wish for a bigger cup rather than to be filled…….

Maybe like beating a dead horse ? We hate it but we love to keep dragging it out…..the past that we cannot let go of…..

So whose wishing for a bigger cup?
So are you saying that I am bringing up the past ie there was no witness to Moses experiences because I enjoy it. Why on earth would I enjoy something as silly as that!
Perhaps it’s more a case of YOU not wanting to explain why you believe that a man from 3,000 years ago without any witnesses knows and hears the word of a God.
You seem to be making out that I’m the problem instead explaining what you think about my statement.
Maybe I’m wrong, but that’s what it feels like.

Redchic12,
I am sorry that you feel that way. I will say this: Your statement is understandable but not logical. There are many things that have happened in the past…..even yesterday. The fact that we lack proof does not mean that they did not happen.

There seems to be only one religion that appears to have no scriptures........
Maybe that is what you are looking for?

Happiness is the result of an enlightened mind whereas suffering is caused by a distorted mind.

BigJohn,
One can legitimately question the necessity of religion. For those seeking God it can be a good starting point. I liked post #116 by Elements. The problem with religion is that it leads you to accept the beliefs of others. Direct union with God is completely personal……the knowledge is yours and not that of someone else. Naturally it can coincide with or affirm what you have been exposed to by others but the conviction of this personal experience outweighs all others…..

Actually BJ I’m NOT looking for any religion whatsoever. I don’t need it. My life works really well without it tbh.
What I’m trying to do, is understand why others believe what they do when they make a comment on this forum.
I find it very interesting to hear their views and hopefully I might learn something along the way as well.
