i said something about
someone being important
as if 'being important'
was a reason for change
the reality
though
is
that the someone was important
only because they were awake
and willing to encounter life
on some other terms
than how other men
say it should be encountered.
in this case
simple dissatisfaction
with something
men today
in our 'enlightened age'
would merely dismiss with
the words
IT MUST BE taken for granted
because EVERYONE KNOWS it cannot change
from what it already is
resulted in a change
that many today
would call impossible
in fact
even the idea I brought up
that it even happened
is likely to meet the same fate...
which only says something about
the utter lack of freedom
men are willing
to afford each other
and underscores
why it might not be so wise
as is commonly thought
to listen so intently
