hmmm...going back to my roots of Ancient Egypt, I have two favorites. The one of Isis' journey to resurrect Osiris, and were Horus defeats Set, and the second is were Isis uses her magic to trick Ra in giving her his real name, so she can become the full magician we know her to be.

I also love the myth of how Athens got their patron god... :)

i grew up in N. Tarrytown where the Legend of Sleepy Hollow took place. i used to play in the Old Dutch Church and lived on Katrina Ave. my elder sister went to Sleep Hollow High School whose mascot was (and still is) the Headless Horseman. one of my friends lived in the Van Tassel apartments. lol

the historical name North Tarrytown was recently changed to Sleepy Hollow so to hype tourism but IMO it was a bad idea since the name North Tarrytown is actually mentioned in Irving's original story.

Yeah IQ I heard they had changed the name. I'm with you I like the original name. Have you ever participated in any of the Halloween stuff they do? I want to make it up there sometime, for the past couple of years I have tried to plan a trip and well it hasn't panned out yet.

no. when i lived in N. Tarrytown i was too young to participate in the cool adult Holloween stuff. my elder sister would go to the Old Dutch Church Cemetery where there was some kind of high school aged kid's spooky Holloween thing. all i did was go trick or treating.

I'm a sucker for greek mythology.

But I also like the story of the Iriquois, my friend had a book about them and he read me some, it was really cool and interesting. :)
