The Hanged Man
I find this card to be very confusing whenever I pull it. I recently did a reading and pulled: the hanged man, then the nine of cups. I am waiting for a response from someone about school/work via email.
I read the hanged man as waiting/being left in suspense. Any other interpretations regarding this combo?
Thanks. :)

When I see this, I feel it says "let it go". Or not a good time right now to ask, so let it go.

The hanged man means delays, or waiting patiently for an outcome. Nine of cups could mean wish fulfillment/ contentment , so the hanged man is casting a shadow over the nine of cups. Or something trying to hold back the outcome by tampering with the energy of the nine of cups.
I agree with Clover could mean not the best time to ask question. There is a shadow aspect over the cups with the card I feel.

Ok. Well I had emailed a professor and it is the busy time of year... final exams and marking. So I expected to wait....but I definitely am feeling like "the hanged man" right about now. Lol.
Thanks.

The thing about The Hanged Man is that he hangs himself.
It usually relates to unresolved karma and reaping what we have sewn...
Giving ourselves too much leeway until we become blinded by our own choices. Getting so caught up in our own knowledge, grandeur and ego that we've closed ourselves off from any alternative viewpoint.
We may have made a deal that we're ashamed of, or the universe tends to think we're getting 'too big for our britches' and forces us into a humble state. It is the card epitomising how pride cometh before the fall.
To get this card means we need to introspect and find out what is important to us and what is grabbing us by the throat simply because we choose to believe it.
It is all about cutting yourself down from the tree and standing back just observing things for a while.
It is my favourite Tarot card.

Thank you for that. That makes a lot of sense to me.

Have you ever heard the saying, a watched pot never boils?
As a combo, these two cards seem to suggest stop 'hanging on' for the outcome you desire, it'll come when it's ready, so kick back and stop stressing.

Ok. Yeah my friend told me today she used to get stressed when waiting for things that were out of her control but now she looks at such situations as a positive, in that she doesn't have to do anything and the ball is out of her court. So I am trying... to adopt that perspective. Lol.
Thank you.
