Female Brain and Male Brain
The more active bilateralization by female( Xx) brain is something I first read about some 20 years ago when they were first begining MRI-like studies of what parts of brain light/activate on the MRI or CAT scan or whatever early type instrumentation they use.
http://www.scientificamerican.com/ar...ly-than-women/
...."On average, men connect front to back [parts of the brain] more strongly than women," whereas "women have stronger connections left to right," said study leader Ragini Verma, an associate professor of radiology at the University of Pennsylvania medical school. But Verma cautioned against making sweeping generalizations about men and women based on the results."....
I believe it was Dr. Christine Northrup how dispelled the myth that the corpus callasum in females was larger than in males when she did her PBS vidieos in late 90's or early 2000's.

From the link it appears the differences are most pronounced in adolescence. That would make sense.
It would be interesting to see scans of different age groups and then compare the data.
