So close yet so far?
Hello forum-goers,
I have attempted to Astral Project(AP) about 5 or so times over a course of a year. This may not seem like diligent practice, and I understand that and regret not diligently practicing. The main reason I don't is this:
When attempting to AP, I always lay down and focus on breath (similar to meditation, which I do regularly practice). After becoming completely relaxed (in my opinion), I feel tingling sensations throughout my hands and feet, which after the second attempt or so I became able to control which part they affected. I do not know if this tingling is vibrations due to partial separation, or if they are something else.
After the tingling phase, I get no further. I have attempted the rope method, the hammick/rollout method, and just plain keeping my mind blank. Each time, I cannot really feel my astral body. I may be zoned out and not thinking about my physical body, but I certainly do not feel anything else.
Tl;dr: Cannot get past tingling sensation, no matter the method.
Thank you in advance for your insight and help.
P.S. I apologize if this has been posted before/is in the wrong forum.
Regards,
AstralGoon

Try to ignore the tingling or any other sensation. If you think about the sensation, it is likely to end. Your mind has to stay relaxed and it should happen by itself.

When I first started AP, I used to meditate first and found that the more deeply relaxed I was (which usually resulted in me falling asleep!) I would find myself AP...why? possibly because your mind, body & spirit are in such a deep state of calm. I learned to control it through time.
Keep at it, it will happen :)

So there should be no technique involved? Simply relaxation? If there is technique, I should wait until the sensation has ended?

Ah, I see. Perhaps I will try that. And thank you for the reassurance!

Eriandiel is correct. You can mediate and keep relaxing and you will automatically ap. You have to be careful that you do not fall asleep. There are times when you do get sensations. You can do an ap technique or you do not have to do an ap technique. If something does not work, you try the other way. If you decide to let it happen by itself, try not to think about the sensation ending as that could end the ap. Your mind has to stay calm and relaxed.
