The man and the iceberg

The man and the iceberg

A man stands on top of an iceberg knowing that just beneath the surface of the water lies all the secrets to the cosmos. So he stand and wait for the water to evaporate so he can see the rest of the iceberg.

Yes this is right, we have a first place

As he waits for the water to evaporate the icebergs melts and becomes one with the sea, so in time he will become one with it all. The iceberg is just an illusion that it is not water like the sea, so all he really has to do to become one with all is to realize this and just jump into the water. So there is no reason to wait, you are already one with it all

...and yet there he is, still on the iceberg and all the theoretics in the world won't get him off until he sees it within himself.

Thus we have ignorance.

Yes that is very much true. The iceberg symbolizes his spiritual journey towards his true self, towards being one with it all.

What I am getting at is this. These forums have an abundance of folks who have read all the right books and have a good working theoretical model of realization. They can argue the toss in a very convincing manner and in some cases they can even convince themselves that their own concepts are more than what they actually are.
Call it ignorance if you want that the vast majority are unaware of this oneness. But all that says is we have plenty of company in our ignorance. I too have held the spiritual carrot of oneness high but now find it more beneficial to live with what is rather than what should be.
No disrespect, I understand your intent on posting this parable. I would just like to remind that until it becomes your experience, it is best left alone so as not to distract from the job at hand.
