Ego.

Is the aversion to others ego a manifestation of our own ego ?

I understand what you are saying...but my first thought was:
As I cross the street to avoid a smelly, messy trash area ---is it reflective of something in me?

I think we all have preferences...if we have an aversion of someone's ego...we are just preferring not to be around it.

Now, how could a person's ego manifest that we would rather not be around?
-Always having to win a debate
-So prideful can't admit a mistake, saying, 'Sorry'.
-Boasting of their accomplishments - esp. above others
-Selfishness or self-centeredness
-Greed
And so on.

I believe it is wise to drift away from those people.

Desire and aversion as two poles of the magnet, attracting and repelling, as of the frequency we vibrate at, we are drawn toward what heart resonates with and are averse to what is not in harmony with our own.

Now, when the ego thins out, which is to say we shift from separateness to interconnectedness to oneness, our mind is then nonjudgmental and heart full of love, so we are more equal or tranquil in all situations, somewhat like the eye of a hurricane, still in the storm.

That said, I’ll go with what Miss Hepburn has posted.

Judgment is a word I avoided...people often will think you to be judgmental if
you say, "I won't go if that person is coming."
Seems like a judgment; it's not ---just a preference from previous observations.
Choices, preferences or aversions are not judgments in the sense of "Judge ye not", as I see it.

I think this is a natural spin off off the first question, so on topic.

As most of us already know through our own experiences everything has a negative and positive including aversions, desires and ego, some are healthy and unhealthy, wholesome and unwholesome, skilful and unskilfull, if we look at the reason behind our actions they will reveal if our choices are beneficial to ourselves and others, or selfish, imo....
I have an aversion to Wasps, in evolutionary terms it's related to survival. I am being selfish but the reason I choose to be is beneficial to me personally.... and others.

Yes, there is a mixture imo. Ego makes the choices. Some choices are fair, some unfair. Some egos are closer to oneness, so would be more fair in their choices. There is also the natural drawing towards people and circumstances appropriate for the stage of development.

Choices of keeping safe from wasps, snakes, heights, dangerous people etc., seem right. But this is the ego's evolutionary self preservation. If in doubt, blame the ego.
