Music and memories.....
Certain songs stay with us forever don't they and for various reason.
This is the beauty of music . It reaches our soul and does something that other things simply cannot do.
It speaks to us . It comforts us. It cheers us up. It makes us cry.
And even if we don't know why , it's important to us.
So what songs are meaningful to you and why ?....

I'll start !
I remember clearly as a young girl skipping around the house on a Sunday, my mother in the kitchen preparing and cooking a Sunday roast with the radio on.
And I kept hearing this one particular song that I absolutely loved and has stayed with me all of my life and would be in my top ten without a doubt.
And that song was "Downtown" by Petula Clark.
I love it.
Hmmm.... But now that I'm older and wiser I'm thinking why was it called "downtown" ? Pet Clarke being British , and we don't call it downtown over here .... We call it the "city centre" LOL...
But never mind, still a great song.

There was always music being played in my house I had two uncles in the choir and my mother had a good voice she had a really good voice
The one record I remember is Rocking Duck i think it was.
she had a load of records. Motown classical etc
I loved my music I used to lock myself away in my room and just play music
I could loose myself in my music. I have got 400 45s and 100 albums
Namaste

That's quite an impressive record collection Native.
Did you have to put your own insert into some of the 45,s ?
It does not surprise me that you come from a family of good singers given where you live!
Your little country is famous for it's lovely voices.
( Me, I can't sing a note)
But of course not ALL memorable music evokes happy memories...
For example, my mother turning the radio up full blast and singing along with "chirpy chirpy cheep cheep"..... I couldn't stand it LOL...
