Legends / stories about Mother Earth?

I'll tell you this right off the bat. I'm the kind of person who enjoys 'peeking behind the curtain' as it were, asking why things are the way they are. I can't simply see something and ooh and aaahh over it. I like to look into it and know more, and, lol, oohh and aaahh along the way. ^_^

So, I was wondering, if anyone would be kind enough to share, or at least point me in a specific direction to information, is there any information, legends, old stories about visions of Mother Earth? How she appeared?
Any of her appearing as this large, glowing, beautiful, peaceful, loving, mother figure of a woman, big as a mountain? IS it a vision or representation of Mother Earth? Or of another divine figure with Native roots?
Just trying to figure this out as I go along my path.

Thank you for your time, I do appreciate it.

I'm not Native American in this life but, I did find this name. Noo Halidzoks (Mother Earth) I hope it helps you in your search for information.

Thanks OldTimer. And hey, as the old saying goes, a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Not sure where it'll lead me, but any step foward is better than remaining stationary.
