A United Kingdom (2016) is a wonderful romantic biopic that is essentially about the power of the love between King Seretse Khama (who eventually became the first President of the African country, Botswana) and Ruth Williams, a British white woman who married Seretse and eventually became the First Lady of Botswana, a marriage that was initially seen as highly controversial to Seretse's tribal elders, as well as to the Union of South Africa.
The film stars British actors David Oyelowo, who portrayed Martin Luther King, Jr. in the film,
Selma, and Rosamund Pike, both of which had previously worked together in the American film,
Jack Reacher, with that famous little Scientologist guy.
