What is Voodoo?

In Haitian Voodoo, I know that there are spirit families called the "Loa" apparently, and there are happy, peaceful spirits (Rada) and angry, mean, spirits (Petro.) Correct me if I'm wrong.. there is a lot of **** on the internet
I'm interested in learning more about the different types of Voodoo, and their rituals, and their beliefs. If anyone knows information, you can message me or post below. Thanks x

someone once told me its another "earth based religion like pagasnism"...not sure if thats true as i'm not even sure what paganism is...certainly the idea that its evil is probably wrong and is a demonisation.
