So many things at once.
Alongside me becoming more in touch with spirituality, at the same time I am also coming to terms my sexuality and gender identity. I identify as demisexual with an attraction to only other females, and my gender is expressed as female, and I am not dysphoric toward my female body, but I feel as if my soul has no gender. Some people already believe the soul has no gender, but others believe it is strictly male or female (which bothers me because there are other genders.) So, do you think spirituality and sexuality/gender identity go hand in hand, or is it just timing?

How would you define 'demisexual'? I'm unfamiliar with that term. Thanks...

demisexual means requiring a strong emotional bond with a person before you become attracted to them. |

Hi spacewitch,
I don't think there are any definite answers to this tbh. Just like there is a myriad of possible sexuality/gender identities, there are endless reasons why a certain soul incarnates into a certain body, in a certain time/cultural setting.
I absolutely agree with you about there not being any strict male/female soul division. That wouldn't make any sense in my mind. It's just a cultural construct.
I had never heard of demisexual either. So I learned something new today, thanks.  |

I think everyone is different. For me I do not connect my spirituality with my sexuality, but then my path and my learning experiences I came here to learn are different from yours.
For you, it might well be they are connected and this is an issue you need to develop in this incarnation.
From what I have read, the younger the soul, the more they identify with gender. But as the soul advances they shed this "skin".

I look on the outward Self as being a projection of soul.
I'm inclined to believe it has gender because of the variables embodied in gender
and which is to me the root of sexual identity problems, ie. when
a "masculine soul" occupies a physiological female and vice versa.

In ancient religions like Hinduism, Jainism, it is taught that the soul is indeed genderless. A man in this life have a great possibility , around 99 %, to be reborn as a woman in the next life, and vice versa.
Dr. Brian Weiss's books of case studies of reincarnating souls also shows that the same soul changes gender in successive lives from one to another.
So , I don't think spirituality and gender identity go hand in hand. Jesus had great femininity expressed in him , while Joan was quite masculine in turn.
It is said that each soul has the masculine and feminine energies, and when they come to perfect balance and harmony, this results in the soul's enlightenment.
