King of Cups as action

Hi all, I recently helped my to do a simple one card reading on love and relationship. My friend and her love interest are not together. She asked how will there loving relationship become? And I pulled out the Chariot. To me, it means the two are going in different directions at this moment or in a difficult situation. It's like they are going on some challenges. Then I have pulled out another card for the advise of action to take. And I got King of Cups. It's a bit strange to interpret KoC as action. Because to me this card means a man who is more mature. And it doesn't feel like any action involved.

Hi, the King of cups cups to me, cups being water the emotions seems to fit into love and relationships

As advice of action, King of Cups can be mastering the emotions/emotional maturity.

However Cups are also about creativity, intuition, the arts and imagination. So it could also be saying don't let the imagination runaway with you. Keep things in perspective and like the King, just sit tight.
