I am an NDE nut, btw.

I too am very aware of the Light and the infinite Suns "inside". Very well put.

Incidentally, I like the quote from Lahiri Mahasaya which serves as part of your signature. It's particularly relevant to this thread. You have clearly meditated on this subject to a significant degree. Lahiri Mayasaya seems to have been a magnificent teacher from what I've read in Yogananda's book. Of that lineage, however, Sri Yukteswar has always commanded my attention most.

Lahiri Mahasaya, the Guru of Yogananda's Guru...

"Prepare yourself for the coming astral journey of death
by riding daily in a balloon of divine perception.
Through delusion you are perceiving yourself as a bundle
of flesh and bones, which at best is a nest of troubles.
Meditate unceasingly, that you quickly behold yourself as
the Infinite Essence."

'Stay with the light of God' - Some, I suppose, might want to wrap that statement up in some sort of lofty mystique (though why?) but really it is very simple, as all the most fruitful wisdom is.
Strive to do good. Be kind. Help others. If you live your life by those guidelines then you truly will be bathed in 'the light of God' and all will be well no matter what path you take.

All this talk of religion, but it's how you live your life that is the all-important thing.
If you set out each day to do all the goodness and kindness that you can, and to do no harm to man or beast, then you are walking the highest path.
And when your time is up, if you can leave the earth a better place than you found it, then yours will have been a life well lived.

I was not sure there was an afterlife until June 2013 when I was visited by my dead sister in law. I am still surrounded by spirits and have seen what amazing things spirits are able to do. Manipulate matter and change into many forms.

Yes, there is definitely an afterlife.....and life goes on but in a better place
