Yes, this is a good topic. I agree with the posts here. In addition, it's interesting that religions also choose to view the Holy Spirit as a male entity when the Bible itself clearly (esp. in the Old Testament) identifies the Holy Spirit as feminine. (If you study the big picture this makes sense due to Cosmic and Universal Laws). Anyway....

For the millions or misogynists out there, there is one undeniable fact: the most honored and glorified purely human being ever to exist in the Universe is guess what....a woman: Mary, the Virgin Mother of God.

That must really be a kick in the shorts to some! Mostly, however, this is a sacred fact that many choose to simply ignore.

It's a good thing Mary is more forgiving than Lilith! LOL

Namaste,

Bodhi

The respective priesthoods reflected and indeed galvanised the prejudices of the day.

When you really dig deep you'll usually find that the Master involved actually taught respect for and honouring of women. This was certainly the case with Jesus. Though none of this made it into the Bible.

Male and female are two aspects of the one whole.
A loving heart is beautiful, a noble soul is exalted - regardless of wheter the physical vehicle be male or female.

Thank you, but just stating a truth.

I don't see that a woman is inferior to a man in any respect, except perhaps physical strength.

I don't have answers to offer, but I do have some questions that could hopefully help us think this through this:

- why are there two sexes?
- which of man or woman was made first?
- what if woman was designed to be subservient to man or vis versa?
- does subservience imply inferiority? ie does inborn service impact innate value?
- what are the principals femininity and masculinity on a cosmological scale?
- what is the difference between "serving" and "caring for"?
- does not humanity follow the orders of the Earth, or else face consequences?
- does not the Earth follow orders from the Sun?

In the first two lines of Moses' Book of Genesis, both the masculine and feminine our outlined immediately:
in-beginning he-created (Elohim) *** the-heavens and the-earth
now-the-earth she-was formless and-void ...

the question to be asked is always this: if we could have been placed in any possible reality, yet we are here and the circumstances are these, then what are we being taught?

It's a dominance thing. To keep the females submissive.
