the idea you can just look at something else sounds easy, but some of us have it much harder than that. Personally, out of frustration I was led to go the other direction and magnify thought, kinda lean into it? Because I couldn't just look away for whatever reason no matter how hard I would try.
but this everyone lost in thought thing also translates to many not paying real attention to anything other than thought, specifically not to what is around them but instead to a picture they are projecting in front of themselves... that has advantages for our 'keepers' because then what we think of as a fixed reality where others/the world at large are taking specific trajectories that can't be changed isn't really that way at all, and the 'reality' around us can be changed in ways we need it to to help as we grow... of course that assumes we get to the point you are kind of indicating, where we are willing to allow things to be different than we already thought they were by looking in another direction than we are used to looking in... from that point of view one explanation for 'miracles' is simply being able to adjust other people's tv screens with things they aren't used to looking at... kinda like what obi wan kenobi did with having the city guards look at blank paper but see proper credentials...
sorry for interrupting I just felt like talking a little lol... back to your regularly scheduled program now...
