The boy is father to the man.

The boy is father to the man, a quote from John Betjeman or Ted Hughes that came back to me today.

The experiences we have when we are young shape our future selves, that first seed is then our highest father.

Great line huh.

dreamer: I could not agree with you more!

It is amazing how our childhood shapes the way we are as adults. And many people are not aware of this.

If we look at the problems that people have during their adult lives a lot of them have to do with how our childhood was. We forget just how bad some parents can be, and it is surprising how some people become parents when they don't deserve to be given children.

I find it rather ironic how when someone wants to adopt a child they have to go through tests yet there are some natural parents out there that cannot do their job-properly.

Our childhood is an essantial determining feature as to how we will become as adults!

So yes-a great and very true line:)

Is there a quote that goes something along the lines of "Give me a child until (s)he is 7 and (s)he is mine for life" or something similar?
