Neti Pot
Wikipedia: "A neti pot is a device used for irrigating the nasal passages.[1] Typically it has a spout attached near the bottom, sometimes with a handle on the opposite side."
Himalayan Institute: "Soothes dry nasal passages, gently washes away dust, pollen, and irritants, and removes excess mucous naturally."
I purchased a Neti Pot today, and wow do they work well. Does exactly what it says it does, and is not painful at all. For years I've had issues with my sinuses and breathing, deviated septum included. I wanted to post this for those interested, but were perhaps a bit fearful of doing it. It's easier than it looks. Also, I know a site that has them on sale if you're unable to find one locally.

I was terrified of it then I had a horrible head cold and bought one. Best $13 I have ever spent! Works wonders and since I have bought it I don't use cold medicine anymore.

Also sounding my praises here! I had one because of sneezing fits I used to get. I found out that during pregnancy, you can't use decongestants, and this was a lifesaver!

Please use distilled water with your neti pots. Don't use tap.

I've read you can boil tap water to make it safe (and then let it COOL to warm so it doesn't hurt) if you don't have distilled on hand. Also been told by my yoga community to make sure to use sea salt, not table salt/any with iodine in it.

Using a solution of distilled water and sea salt is recommended, but you can also use boiled tap water. 1 teaspoon of salt in 500 ml of water makes a 0.9% saline solution like the body's fluids. Jala Neti is really beneficial and helps flush the sinuses, tear ducts and nasal cavities and passageways.

A neti pot can do you wonders. Helped me with allergies and asthma. Like CYNchronicity said, make sure you do not use plain tap water or it could be fatal.
