Back at SF after a little hiatus!

Hi everyone. I just wanted to go on record here with a greeting to you all.

I've been disconnected from SF because I've been very occupied and focussed on advocating for my Mom. She had a minor stroke in the beginning of May, and in my world, it seems you have to work very hard to stay on top of the bureaucratic red tape and speak out about care for a Senior citizen. It amazes me how easily our Seniors can get sucked into the "system" and be almost forgotten about if there isn't someone advocating for them.

I have missed the SF community very much, and am glad to be logged back in! Have a good night, everyone. Love, Raven Poet

Welcome back, and how wonderful that your mom had you advocating for her!! Too many find themselves disenfranchised in these circumstances, and have no one on their side and are neglected--yay for you standing up for her!!

I agree with Kiran, your mum is sure lucky having you fighting her corner.. It does seem as though senior citizens get a raw deal in the care system, that's not right considering how much they have put in to the community all their lives!
