I think everyone's hit several nails on several heads here. Health aside, sometimes I drink a full glass of water if I'm feeling hungry and then my hunger subsides. This is good for snack cravings and things like that. So, if you cover all the bases above and still find yourself feeling peckish, try having a full glass of water or even a cup of tea as a treat.

Yes, this happens a lot. You need more saturated fat from veggies and larger portions. 4-5 medium meals a day is a lot better than 3. Keeps you from getting real hungry and your blood sugar stays more stable. So eat more and eat more often. Fruit will go right through you, so try and eat nuts w/ them, especially almonds. Again, things like avocados, coconut milk, and almonds contain lots of healthy saturated fats that break down slower.

What kind of foods are you eating? I eat only two meals a day and do fine, but only if I eat a nice serving of protein every meal like tofu, nuts, etc.

A proper balanced diet will help you and making sure you eat enough re: calories, for the energy you expend during the day.
I usually eat 2 meals a day (plus a snack or two in the evening perhaps) and find that very satisfying, even though I am a physically active person.
I always have a breakfast of fruit (2 pieces) with seeds (this can be toasted or raw and is usually sesame, pumpkin and sunflower seeds.) But you could also use pine nuts if you like, or flax seed etc. I also have cereal with this, quite a lot. Bran and oats. Now this is not an 'early breakfast'. It is more of a 'brunch', as I always eat about 2-3 hours after I have woken up. If I am up very early I might have a banana and some seed bread toast, maybe with peanut butter.
Then at dinner about 6pm-7pm I have a proper dinner. Tonight I had homemade red kidney bean burgers with onion, an avocado salad with snap peas, lettuce and celery, and new potatoes.
Quite honestly I couldn't eat any more, and was certainly not hungry after that dinner. It filled me just as much as I remember being filled from the days when I was a teenager and ate meat.
But sometimes if I am still a little peckish in the evenings....there are always vegan cakes and cookies and dairy-free chocolate! There are wonderful snack foods like beetroot/parsnip/quinoa crisps or sesame snaps. There are carob coated peanuts brazils, and raisins...And a good handful of cashew nuts or peanuts fills a corner!

Whether you are vegetarian, vegan, or omnivorous, eating a small, balanced meal every 3 1/2-4 hours is actually very healthy for you. It maintains a steady metabolism and blood sugar levels, which increases energy and focus.
Make sure you are drinking your water as well! Give yourself time, any dietary change is hard work. :)

I agree, it probably is the wrong amount of protein you are getting, by the way hummus is a great idea. Love it! Super healthy and super tasty!
