Reading a little about Zen Master Dogen this morning. This thought sprung up in my mind. It said something like, the funniest thing about searching earnestly for the truth or liberation is that you come to find that you have always been that all along and yet an earnest search seems to be part of a syllabus to awakening ! Dogen's ideas on Zazen are just game changing and totally mind blowing, to be paraphrastic and give a general idea, he says something like ..when you sit you are the Buddha Nature, there is nothing more to do, even if the sky is falling down on you there is nothing to change nothing to do, the Buddha nature is established already.
Another of my own ideas was, that the human body is too small to hold truth sometimes, it seems too small a vessel when truth comes rushing in all at once. Hence, the idea of training and paths which aspire to gradual awakening and integration.
