Krishna-prem, I just wanted to ask you about your stance on manipulation: You mentioned that it's not necessarily a bad thing, in your opinion, why is that? Personally, the thought of someone trying to control me in any way without my consent makes my blood boil...It's one thing to seek help and advice from people, but manipulation is, to me, something else altogether.
I appreciate all the responses guys, thanks.

Hi Seeker,
It makes your blood boil because of the frame you have around manipulation. Manipulation is simply using what someone else brings to the table to change thought and behavior patterns. For example I have a smoker come to my office, no amount of advice is going to change his behavior. However if I take the way he thinks about cigarettes and flip it on its head then the behavior will change. That is manipulation to help someone achieve their goal.
Manipulation itself is neutral it is the intent and the method that make it positive or negative.
Cheers!
K-P

Lol, way to manipulate me into considering an alternative way to view manipulation
Truth be told, I've built up some negative thought patterns regarding manipulation, and they can occasionally manifest in the form of paranoia, which is not healthy. How should I go about reframing these negative views to one of acceptance and positive allowance? Is it easily done by myself, or would you recommend seeing an actual NLP therapist (I'm pretty sure there are some around my city)?
Cheers to you too!

I agree as well. There is a lot to be offered in the direction of spiritual matters.

The question would be why do you want the change?
You could do it yourself. Depending on the nature of the thought pattern it may be easier to work with a coach but that's a decision for you to make.
Lol see we can't escape manipulation Not even on here ;)
Cheers!

It depends what is behind the negative views. Some things are changeable by an unskilled practitioner and some things are not.
K-P, are you well known in the NLP field?
