I think these "experiences" people get can be totally meaningless. The value in an experience is you get a new insight into your nature, an insight that gives you a higher awareness and understanding of things, and then with this new awareness and understanding, you can be a more loving and spiritual kind giving good person. You can change.
I don't think the point is an experience, it's a new understanding. Anyone can have amazing experiences using all kinds of things and not be changed by them at all. Like enjoying stillness is not the point, it's learning what you were doing that was preventing stillness. I don't think of stillness as being physically still or even as being quiet, I think it as being free from identification from the "mental noise" in our heads and one can be very busy and noisy and still be "still" in nature.

I find my entire life to be my inner roommate. I have absolutely no idea why my life exists at all. All the senses of my body neither. I don't know what the purpose of them are. I try to find something that is real. A consistent identity. When all my senses are changing constantly. Nothing remains as real.
