There are definitely people who's light shine more than others. They are often blinded by their own light and blind others with their light. All with good intentions of course. But either way, the blind leading the blind.
Darkness never cedes regardless of how much a person's light shines. Its always there, lurking in the shadows awaiting you. Waiting for us to trust, to be vulnerable. People who display too much light often do so to hide the darkness that lurks inside. And there is much darkness in everyone.

Hello,
This may be a good time to point out that there are those with hypersensative visual and sensing abilities. Those people can see auras and a person's merkaba which is 8 meters wide. When the merkaba is white it represents a person who has balenced theit light and dark side at a very high level of light. That balance is again physically visable to those with this skill.

What a driven view I know for myself that I can only believe what I am capable of - and have been and seen. I was fortunate to meet people early on whose Light shone physically and whose eminence in compassion showed me the possibilities in Life. Being able to see and work through the egoic parts of ourselves (the "Dark") is what makes the Light shine, like polishing a dirty diamond. The Light has always been there and it is the truest thing that exists. The rest is illusion. What on earth is anyone else doing in "spirituality"?

I often ponder the same. Then realize the question serves as a distraction. Its best to just focus on myself.
Yin, Yang symbol is about balance between the two. The light and the dark inside ourselves. Unfortunately darkness gets a bad rep. Seen as egotistic, negative. Probably out of fear. Condemning one side of ourselves while encouraging the other, we remain unbalanced. It depends on how one sees darkness i suppose. It could also be seen as the void inside ourselves. The emptiness that we try to fill with artificial meaning, light. Or it could be seen as the darker aspect of ourselves. The parts of ourselves that we hide, keep suppressed. Our fears, vulnerabilities. In this way darkness can be just as egotistic as light. Much less so if one embraces it.
