I found myself being drawn to Selenite recently as well. It's so unique but subtle at the same time. I like to have it near me during meditation. It's a calming/angelic energy that is not the least bit overpowering (it doesn't take the focus away from the main goal: conscious unconsciousness)

I use for clearing and protection. I love it's energy!!! I have a selenite stick near my divination tools, to protect them against negative energies. I also will place a piece of selenite on each side of my body when I do an energetic reading and clearing that has ALOT of negative energy. I also use one to mix sea salts and essential oils together so that their therapeutic properties are enhanced. I had one in a plant that I gave away to my grandmother. Later on she was sent to the hospital so the plant was left to die as no one was watering it. When she passed away a new a new leaf spurt out of the arid soil near the selenite. Selenite is a special crystal with so much positive energy, it's no wonder that it is said to vibrate at the frequency of the angels :)

I haven't got any selenite in the satin spar form of the stone. However, I do have a selenite piece in the form known as "desert rose", and it's fascinating to look at. Another name for selenite is gypsum, so if you have any gypsum stones, you have selenite.
Just be aware that selenite will dissolve in water, so keep the stone clean and dry. It also has a very low Mohs hardness, so it is a fragile stone and needs to be handled with care.
