I often feel sicken when i hear about the violence going on in the world but at the same time i enjoy watching violent and graphic movies. I even find some of the violent scenes amusing and funny. I'm a huge horror movie fanatic and enjoy movies like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, House of 1000 Corpses, Hostel, Friday the 13th, Tales from the Hood, etc. I know these are just actors and no one is really getting hurt so it has no effect on me. I see it as pure entertainment.

I can't watch horror or violence. I don't like hearing people suffer and have it beamed into my space, real or put on. I don't think it's good for your space as I believe this feigned suffering still imprints on the spatial mandalas, making it the opposite to a "sacred space". I do find that if I eat denser, heavier and unhealthy foods then I become less sensitive to such things.

I used to watch a few of the blood and guts type series. for me I don't think it was an attraction to the darkness in them, but an admiration for the creativity. I haven't really watched tv for a couple of years now. I prefer to keep myself busy or sit on my porch and read. television just doesn't appeal anymore. Flexi-girl, there is so much more you could do with your time! I wish you well :)

I can't watch violent scenes on Tv, they make me physically ill. I said to someone recently that the impact isn't much worse than if the scene was playing out for real in my lounge. For them, the scene isn't real, and hence provides entertainment. I really struggle with the notion that watching someone getting their guts ripped out is somehow entertaining? Maybe I'll never get it.
