Indeed. I agree, they do have some dubious takes on the Gospel. I'm glad to know that I am within line, though of course sin is always a stumbling block.
I believe the essence of handling this vicious archetype is maintaining a solid grasp of whatever little knowledge of scripture. I completely believe that with a large enough faith in Christ, even the verse "Jesus wept." would have caused this dark figure to retreat.
