When I use it, I draw the symbols, and after each character, I think of the person or place that I'm sending reiki to. Once done, I place both palms on my lap and focus on each of the chakra. It's almost the same like doing it in person.
If you have any more specific questions, I may be able to help answer them. I must admit I'm rather new to this... I only got my master attunement a week ago.
