I use "Insight Timer" app on my phone, and it has a TON of guided meditations, which really help. I found trying to meditate on my own in silence doesn't work well.
One meditation on there said something about imagining your thoughts that come into your mind floating away on a leaf down the river. Put those thoughts on a leaf, say goodbye, and go back to your focusing on breathing or whatever the guided meditation is having you try. It also has groups, forums, a profile, you can make friends, etc... I recommend giving it a try, you might really get some good help from it.
