My story (it's short)
About 10 or 11 years ago I heard a loud and fast screeching noise, like something plummeting from the sky.
A few weeks later there were all sorts of rumours about finding a crashed alien in the lake an hour north from my city.
Nobody I talk to about this heard the noise.
