Astrodienst newsletter December 2020

Some excerpts from the latest newsletter for those interested:

Since the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn on January 12, essential areas of our lives and the world have become increasingly unstable. The result is an increasingly chaotic field in which it is becoming more and more difficult to see how things may develop. We find ourselves in a labile situation in which an event that at first glance seems insignificant can have a major impact. However, shortly before the end of this extraordinary year, the quality of time will change significantly. The conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter at 0° Aquarius on December 21 can be seen as the beginning of a new era.

Before that, however, a solar eclipse in the sign of Sagittarius will occur on December 14, which allows us to revisit some of the themes and events of the past months.

The Sun, together with Mercury, forms a square with Neptune and a sesqui-square with Uranus, which is in Taurus together with Lilith. Jupiter and Saturn are almost conjunct in the last degrees of Capricorn, and Mars in Aries makes its last square to Pluto in Capricorn. At this time, deception and trickery may be employed to try to create a fait accompli in order to block the change that many long for. Now, not only common sense is needed, but also the willingness to stand up with all clarity for an open and humane future.

Exactly at the solstice on December 21, when the Sun enters Capricorn, Saturn and Jupiter meet in a conjunction. This constellation, which takes place every 20 years, is also called the "Great Conjunction" and is considered to set the pace for wider societal developments. It is often a time of spiritual and mental reorientation and adjustment of mundane power relations. This time, the encounter of the two social planets takes place at 0° Aquarius. Since ancient times, the winter solstice has been one of the most important events of the year in the northern hemisphere. In this darkest time, the "new light" is received - symbolically also celebrated with Christmas.

This time, however, not only a new 20-year cycle begins, but also one that will shape the world for the next two centuries. The conjunctions of Saturn and Jupiter always occur in the same element for about 200 years. In the cycle now coming to an end, it was the element Earth. With the Great Conjunction in Aquarius, we are at the very beginning of a cycle in the element Air, and thus at the beginning of a significant shift in the collective orientation. Knowledge, communication and ideals will shape the next two centuries more than material possessions (find more information on this conjunction in the article "Generational Shifts and the Jupiter-Saturn Mutation" by J. Lee Lehman).

We are now at the beginning of a new era. We will already be able to perceive the first, delicate effects next year. However, it is unlikely that this Great Conjunction on December 21 will establish a more idealistic view of man and the world straight away. As so often, the new reality must first assert itself against strong resistance. But we can certainly expect that a clearly perceptible wind of change will be blowing. A renewal of society is initiated by individual people. But the emphasis on Aquarius also tells us that the strength is found in diversity. Everyone is involved in the change. Perhaps on December 21 or during the days after, you will find time for quiet contemplation to welcome the new into your own life.

Peace
