I was raised Roman Catholic and there were so many rules, for example not eating meat on Fridays, going to confession before communion, attending mass every week, supporting the Catholic church. We were told that the Catholic church was the only true religion and everyone else was going to hell. This was all about control!! Now that people are more educated the churches are suffering and closing their doors. I have not gone to church for many years but it took a long time to stop feeling guilty after being brainwashed for years.
