What happens after your consciousness is released from your body is up to you. Whatever you believe, whatever decisions you have made regarding your time in what we call the physical will appear as a projection of your psyche and will for you, represent the truth. It all has nothing to do with religion in any form nor with a god or gods. This world, the one you are in at the present is one you created and so will the next world be.
There is no karma, no retribution, no paying off of debts or collecting of rewards - the universe puts no moral or ethical pressures on you thus setting no framework in which you can act.
You have complete freedom and how you use your freedom is up to you.
We are all part of a vast information field, one named by Jung as the collective unconscious, sometimes known as the Akashic Chronicles in esoteric circles.
Within this collective each of us contributes in one way or another and evolution depends upon the information received in feedback form - for that is what we do the whole time - we are in constant touch with the universe.
