There's always a generation gap in this world. The new one thinking it's special, the old one thinking it knows best etc. And it's all-too-easy to "give advice" when really we don't truly know what's needed by any particular individual.
My way is to offer
suggestions based on what an individual has said, what I think they might benefit from and what I think might wish to consider.
Doubtless others will see advice differently.
