Strangely, I was playing out in the garden, rarely watched TV at the time , and also odd that my parents had gone doing something in kitchen and had left the TV on, very unusual as father was a right skinflint and wouldn't give the electricity company an extra penny, I had come in from outside to get something from the front room and the broadcast was just starting , I just stood there mesmorised, I also recall some black and white film footage on the news at around the same time of something they found on the moon, but that seems to have disappeared- when I told them there had been an alien on TV, they just looked at me not believing what I said.
