Yes, Ramakrishna had stated that the one whose mind is focussed on God while performing his duties constantly, is of a heroic nature (due to difficulty in doing so.)

However it is not easy to keep the mind on God or Self ( witnessing) while performing action. It requires a lot of austerity and practice in the beginning.

It is said that Rajarshi Janaka, practiced austerities in solitude in his youth, which enabled him to be in the witnessing state while performing his duties as a king .

Janaka is considered to be the first man to have attained enlightenment through karma yoga ( yoga of action) and is mentioned both in the Vedas and Bhagavad Gita.
