children lost in sandy worlds.

racists sweating to get a sun tan
and try
enjoying your icecream
before a seagull swoop.

Get out the barbie!
Joy to those eating,
smoke to the neighbours;
music for the diners,
stress to the rest.

Picnic for families -
some grand,
some makeshift
eaten in greenery scenes
on this welcomed
hot summer's day.

Whilst
behind the curtains
safeguarding their health
the aged and frail
now reduced to
waiting it out....
