My brother used to see a cat in his house, usually sitting at the bottom of the stairs.
He bent down the first time to pick him up and put him outside but then the cat vanished.
After a few visits the cat stopped appearing.
Some people think cats can come back and perhaps sit in their favourite places after their deaths.
