Gemini is a mutable air sign which suggests changeability, always being attracted to new ideas but struggling to see anything through to completion.

The symbol of Gemini is the twins, relating to duality. Thus there is a Gemini tendency to be pulled in two different directions, and the Gemini challenge is to reconcile the two.

As always, the problems of one sign can be resolved in the opposite sign. Sagittarius is the opposite sign to Gemini, and the symbol of Sagittarius is the centaur (half human, half animal) with a bow and arrow. The higher symbol is the archer on horseback, indicating that the human has risen above the animal nature.

The significance of the bow and arrow is that the archer shoots the arrow directly to the target, and having achieved that goal moves on to the next target. Thus the scattered energies of Gemini can be resolved in the qualities of Sagittarius.

This principle of the problems of one sign of the zodiac being resolved in the opposing sign can be applied to every sign, and it can be an interesting exercise.
