Otherwise, sure. It's just a divination tool.
If you're concerned that you might access the dark parts of your unconscious, then maybe you shouldn't do it. But I'd wager you have to face that at some point.
If you're worried about nefarious things you could always do a banishment and create sacred space first, then do your divination.
