A thread for Freeform Poetry inspired by wisdom

A small introduction to Freeform Poetry
or The Free Verse

"Free verse poems have no regular meter or rhythm. They do not follow a proper rhyme scheme; these poems do not have any set rules. This type of poem is based on normal pauses and natural rhythmical phrases, as compared to the artificial constraints of normal poetry."

"Freeform poetry or open form poetry rejects the structure and organization found in traditional poetry, such as haikus, sonnets, or rhyming poems. Freeform poetry can be divided into three main types, or styles: free verse poetry, chance poetry, and surrealist poetry. These poetic types aim to blast open the traditional poetic structure and present more possibilities on the page."
