In winter when the air is cold, it has less water in it, so if we have small blockages, we don't feel them, or much less.
In summer the air is heavier, there is usually less wind to clear pollutants, so that's maybe why you feel things during this period.
Anyways, I do those breathing once or twice or day, it's very effective.
