Well I started to show an interest in this even if I'm not specialist but when some dreams are very lifelike, vivid, recurring, unusual, strange etc and you can feel they do have deeper significance, it's likely it's a past life or as you said Guff779, also a astral plane. But what you said, True Angel, sounds good too. He is maybe clairvoyant.
