This is a browser thing. When using any FireFox and spinoffs, I have to check "Keep Me Logged In", but on Chrome and ilk, I don't.
If you're on Android, try various browsers until you find one that's vBulletin friendly. DuckDuckGo seems to have the least problems on my Android
