It Was
We live and we die yet no one has shown me the other side.
Promises, hopes, dreams, mind games...
I just want release from these darkening skies.
If I was eternal then perhaps I could see why
But I am not and so I need to suffer
Through all my stammerings about life
In the end,
no one knows why...
It was....
And if it was it leads me to wonder
What was it that opened
The door
The mind games continue
The heart remains poised to one day
Let it all go.
