When you see it as a statement, yes.
I always understood it more like a plea ...
"please take me home ..." . Like that.
Maybe I am nostalgic as was suggested earlier here. I'm not from the country where I live now, I'm an expat here. Sometimes I feel I don't belong here and miss my home country.
