I AM the same way.
One time I was laid up, I would go to the Library and take books out. One day, they had a different Librarian at the front desk who had never seen me before. I came up to the desk with about 2 bags full of books to check out. She informed me I could only check out 2 books at a time. Library rules. The Head Librarian came over and told her I could check out all the books I had brought up to the desk. She claimed I do that all of the time which I did.
