YHVH is the Tetragrammaton used in Old Hebrew.

Yahweh is what is used in Modern Hebrew as expressed in the Masoretic text.

According to the Kabbalah, the actual pronunciation of God's name is only known by a few people during each generation. Yahweh is close to the actual pronunciation but is not the actual pronunciation.

I would say 'Christianity' has done a pretty good job of keeping the masses in ignorance.
