Reading this I wondered if the perspective in the first thought are important and everything else is logic supporting what one wants. I know I would tend do this by saying if certain things or conditions were different I would do it, if everything were (100%) the way I want it. For instances a friend once had an opportunity they questioned and in the end it was they did not wish to leave family and friends and the neighborhood. That was the nature of the opportunity. It also required change and giving up some thing. The real attachment laid in other places and logic was in other reasons. The decision was already made. I know I use to spend weeks trying to change my mind with logic.
